If you want to get in the good graces of the townsfolk, or perhaps woo that special someone, you're going to need to give them gifts. Lots and lots of gifts. Preferably, ones they actually liked.
As of Alpha 1.0, it appears that not everyone will always accept a gift from you. It is yet unclear if this is determined by day, weather, their mood, whether or not you can gift multiple times in a week, or something else entirely. Additionally, there appears to be a bug that makes it so you cannot gift certain characters either after you've completed the bridge, or once you've reached Month 2.
Some gifts are universally received by all, or at least most, of the townsfolk.
The table at the bottom of the page is notes from Alpha 2.0. The table is in no way exhaustive, but feel free to use it as reference or add to it if you can.
Universal Favorites
Favorite Gifts will give you +10 relationship points.
Universal Loves
Loved Gifts will give you +5 relationship points.
Universal Likes
Liked Gifts will only give you +1 relationship points.
- Apple, Cheap Soda, Orange Juice (except Carol, who dislikes both Orange Juice and Cheap Soda as "Jam"; and Molly, who favors orange juice as "Jam"), Caterpillar, Silk Cocoon
Universal Dislikes
Disliked Gifts will take -5 relationship points.
- Wood and Stone (except: Higgins, who favors both; and Aadit, who likes wood)

Hated Gifts will take -10 relationship points.
