• Hi MrMorough

I noticed your Tips and Tricks page. Great idea, and good luck with it.

A little wikicode tip, I think you might have been looking for. You already know the basic wiki link to another page on the same wiki Iron Bar

To add a page to a category, old fashioned style is pretty simple as well:

However, if you want to make a link to a category within a line of text, without adding the page itself to the category, this is done like so: Buff Consumables The initial colon makes sure that the page you're editing doesn't end up in the category itself. The pipe "|" means that the reader will only see the text after the pipe sign itself.

Also, it gives the fewest problems to add the formatting signs completely outside of the brackets: * Buff Consumables.

And if you want to add a plural, that is not in the initial link's name, you add it outside of the brackets, but "glued" to it: Iron Bars

    Happy editing.

Update: I forgot to mention that the main reasoning for using the "old school" links is because if one of them is broken, it immediately becomes red, so you can fix the issue. With the other method, the page shows a nice blue link, but each of them requires individual checking, since it is no longer possible to tell at a glance whether or not each individual link actually works. Also, I'd recommend against adding multiple links to the same article (especially in the long version) within the same paragraph, since that makes the code really hard to read. And each time you add a new bit of code, there's always the odd risk that something is mistyped so it breaks. So it is really useful to keep the code simple :)

    Happy editing.
