Hi Skuldomg88, I'm the main editor/administrator for Gamepedia's My Time at Portia wiki (esposaderojo). With the recent announcement, I thought it would be good to have a discussion about the future. What's the best place for us to do that? Slack/Discord/etc.? Looking forward to working with you :)
(I'm posting this on the other admins' walls too.)
Hi, I'd like to help update the skill tree page and to do that without a barren page without them I want to add the new images. I tried the steps in your blog by converting the file to a database file then trying to open it with DB Browser but it requires a password. Perhaps I am not following the steps required for image files or they have since updated their files to be encrypted. For now I will create a notepad as a sort of offsite Sandbox for the page without image files but let me know if I can do anything different if it's not too much trouble. Thanks.
Hey! Thanks for trying to help. The game stores the texture files differently since Alpha 8. You'll have to open up My Time at Portia\Portia_Data\StreamingAssets\uisystem with the Unity Bundle Extractor. The DB Browser is for database tables only, which stores game info, not textures or sounds or anything like that. Hope that helps as a starting point :)
OK thanks will give it a go at some point. I'll also try to get the skill tree to function without the max points box. As you probably know the max point spend per section was removed and there is now only a max for each individual skill.
I'm able to look at the assets file but I'm not sure which are the skill icons? Most of the files I'm trialing are also rejecting the conversion to png format, saying it's an unknown 2D texture format. It is possible that the right files will allow it though.
A little different, but not much. When opening, the program will ask you to extract it to a new file. You do that, then proceed to open that one and click on "Info". Then the regular interface you know of will open up just like with the old file format.
Hi there. First off, I want to say thank you for helping out with the wiki.
I am willing to provide you with content moderator rights, if you choose to take the position. With these rights, you will be able to lock/unlock pages (under high vandalism), delete pages that are not to the standards of the wiki, rename images, and more. For a full list of tools available to content moderators, see Help:Moderators#Content Moderators.
If you decide to take it, let me know. It will greatly assist me with moderating the wiki and performing actions that require a moderator.
Wow thanks :D I'm not sure how much help I can actually be since I have pretty much added all I could think of and that's been missing/inaccurate on the wiki but if I can help out in any way with additional stuff like deleting pages (the one that came up recently comes to mind), I'd be glad to. Thanks! :)
